Tony Who?

tony Tony was born and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia, the youngest of five children. At seven years old Tony started his first business selling candy out of twenty five cent vending machines in his father’s Chevrolet Cadillac dealership.

Having grown up on Vancouver Island Tony has always maintained a deep appreciation for his natural surroundings and he loves the outdoors; you will find him on a boat in the summer or a mountain in the winter.

After graduating from Brentwood College School Tony enrolled at the University of Western Ontario; he graduated in 2005 with a degree in English Literature and a burning desire to become an entrepreneur.

Shortly after graduation Tony formed CanRepel Products Inc. CanRepel was Tony’s first “real” entrepreneurial project. Through an eco-partnership with TerraCycle CanRepel’s deer repellent was sold in 1800 Home Depot stores. Tony remains an avid supporter, and investor, in TerraCycle.

Upon returning to Vancouver Island, in June 2005, the Inaugural Tony Harris Hockey Classic took place. This charity street hockey tournament ran for five consecutive years and raised over $75,000 for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and other local causes.

In 2007 Tony completed the NADA Dealer Candidate Academy and shortly after was selected for the charter class of the NADA Executive Management Program at Babson College. During this time Tony met Jared Hamilton of DrivingSales.com and the two remain friends and business partners. Tony is passionate about his role as an advisor and investor at DrivingSales.com.

Day to day Tony can be found in his office at Harris Mitsubishi in Nanaimo. Tony is the General Manager at Harris Mitsubishi and takes a leadership role at the Harris Auto Group. Tony takes a great deal of pride in his innovative team at the Mitsubishi store and is proud to lead BC’s top rated dealership on Google.

From this post Tony also runs Island Car Credit which is a second chance automotive finance company founded in 2009.

Tony is a junior real estate developer in the Nanaimo and is passionate about the future of Nanaimo economically and socially.

Tony also enjoys providing consulting services to many different clients through his role as an educator at GLG Research.
